FORT
LAUDERDALE - Two animal welfare organizations are bringing a new mobile
pet clinic to various stops around South Florida to offer low-cost
spaying and neutering, testing, vaccinations and micro-chipping for
dogs and cats.
The Clydey Foundation and Stray Aid will have their 30-foot mobile clinic at the National Guard Armory, 400 SW 24th St. in Fort Lauderdale today, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Appointments for services can be made at the website www.strayaid.org or by calling or texting 954-816-0799. More than 20 pets have reservations to be spayed or neutered today.
The Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic and Community Outreach Center is a
medical center on wheels that will be able to care for up to 50 pets
per day and will travel throughout the tri-county area, according to
officials.
Many people can't afford quality care for their pets, said Sharon
Jacobson of the Clydey Foundation. "It's our mission to bring animals a
better quality of life through population management and public
education."

Added Diane Fraser of Stray Aid: "This new clinic will greatly reduce
unnecessary euthanasia, births and deaths which ultimately results in a
more stable and healthy dog and cat population in South Florida."
According to officials, when not preventing births, the mobile clinic
will be used for community events and disaster relief efforts.
